The University Governing Council has appointed the current Provost of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies, Prof. Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, as the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor for a three year term.
A letter signed by the Registrar, Mr. John Kofi Nyan, said the Governing Council of the University appointed Prof. Edu-Buandoh at its 99th meeting held on Friday,November 23, 2018.
Prof. Edu-Buandoh’s appointment takes effect from January 1, 2019. She takes over from the current Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, whose term of office ends on Monday, December 31, 2018.
Prof. Edu-Buandoh is the first female to be appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast. Apart from being a Provost, Prof. Edu-Buandoh has served the University in different capacities including Head, Department of English, Dean, Faculty of Arts, member, Search Committee for the Appointment of Vice-Chancellor in 2016 and several committees.
At the national level, she was the chair for the Committee on Emoluments in 2016 and a board member of the Atta-Mills Presidential Library.
