The University of Cape Coast is collaborating with Huawei Technologies to introduce smart campus solutions to enhance teaching, research and extension services.

To this end, Huawei Technologies will work with the University to provide customised design solutions, as well as data integration, scenario integration, infrastructure, training, and maintenance services, through world-class project management solutions.

Prof. Denis Aheto

In recognition of his expertise and significant contributions, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, the Director of the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), has been appointed as Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo (UW), Canada.

The University of Cape Coast and Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), USA, have resolved to strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions.

The institutions had already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate to advance the cause of both institutions.

Signing of UKCEH MoU

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the United Kingdom Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the interests of the two institutions.

Under the terms of the MoU, both UCC and UKCEH will collaborate on various initiatives, including biosphere-atmosphere exchange and effects, and hydrological forecasting

Cadet Officers Course 53

The University of Cape Coast has held an orientation for Cadet Officers Course 53 of the Ghana Police Academy at the Ghana Police Training School in Accra.

The Cadet Officers made up of 431 officers will also pursue Postgraduate Diploma in Security Studies from the Department of Forensic Sciences, University of Cape Coast as part of their regular police training.

Retirees 2023

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has honoured 141 retiring staff members after several years of service to the University.

 The retirees, who served the UCC between six and 42 years, were made up of 19 Senior Members, 33 Senior Staff and 89, Junior staff members.

They were honoured for their meritorious and dedicated services to UCC during the 2023 Send Off and Long Service Awards Ceremony held at the School of Medical Sciences Auditorium.

A professor of Religion and Environment, Prof. Samuel Awuah-Nyamekye, has tasked religious leaders to devote much time to conscientise their followers on the need to conserve the environment.

That, he noted, would go a long way to safeguard the environment and promote sustainable growth.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rosemond Boohene, has received the Programme Manager of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), United Kingdom, Mr. Richard Lamp, who is on a working visit to the University.

The University of Cape Coast has held a Send-off and Long Service Awards Ceremony for ninety-three (93) retirees of the University for their meritorious service.

 

A breakdown of the number of retirees (teaching and non-teaching Staff) honoured includes twenty-three (23) Senior Members, thirty-five (35) Senior Staff and thirty-five (35) Junior Staff.
