A member of staff of University of Cape Coast (UCC) took center stage at the 2022 Youth Conference organized by the United Nations in Johannesburg, South Africa after emerging first in the Intercontinental Youth Connect Model United Nations (IYCMUN).
Mr. Jude Edem Kweku Govinah, from the Sports Section of the University, received a certificate of award and UCC was also presented with a certificate of appreciation for supporting the delegate to join the YCMUN.
Mr. Govinah emerged winner out of fifty-two (52) participants drawn from fifty-two (52) countries.
The conference was on the theme: “Youth: Leaders for Today and Tomorrow”
For the competition, there were three oral presentations in the categories of Unprepared Speech, Prepared Speech and a debate. The debate was on the topic, ‘Having the Africa We Want and the Role of Each Country in Having the Africa We Want’.
Mr. Govinah’s presentation focused on coming together and having select countries help Africa develop.
